More importantly, we deliver impartial and technically robust opinions which are vital to the long term credibility and success of environmental, sustainability and emissions programs with clients, stakeholders and governments.
LRQA Climate Change History
Over the past 20 years, we have played a significant role in developing global standards and processes to help protect the environment.
In 1988 we developed the first Environmental Assurance audit process. Building on that expertise, we verified the first ever independently scrutinized environmental report in 1990 (Norsk Hydro UK Limited).
In 1995, LRQA became one of the first certification bodies to be awarded accreditation for the environmental management system standard, BS 7750. When ISO 14001 superseded BS 7750 in 1996, we were also one of the first to be accredited.
