Preliminary Assessment – At a Glance
LRQA’s Preliminary Assessment examines and reports on your management system’s readiness for the transition assessment. It can be carried out at any stage of your system’s development but as it is an evidence-based assessment you will benefit more if you have already started to implement the changes introduced by ISO 9001:2015. It focuses on how your management system has addressed, or plans to address, the changes introduced by the revision. Based upon the findings, our assessor will advise whether your organization meets the new standard requirements for the system elements examined. We can assess the whole standard or we can focus on specific areas.
Preparing for the Preliminary Assessment visit
In advance of the Preliminary Assessment visit, you should familiarize yourself with the new and changed requirements within ISO 9001:2015. Consider the readiness of the people within your organization. Are top management, process owners and internal governance teams ready for transition and engaged with the revisions to the standard? Do they know what is expected of them? This in itself demonstrates top management leadership and engagement. - determine your understanding of the new requirements

- identify how you have, or intend to address these within your management system.
